Overview
Pranam App is a daily devotional companion. This policy explains the information the app uses to provide account access, personalization, sharing, listening, temple discovery, AI features, premium access, reminders, reports, and support.
We do not claim that the app collects no data. Some features use Firebase, the Pranam App backend, RevenueCat, Google Mobile Ads, Shorebird for signed app-update delivery, local device storage, and optional device permissions.
Account and profile data
If you sign in, Pranam App may use your email or username, authentication token, display name, settings, and profile information to keep your app experience available across sessions and devices.
Guest use may be available during an initial free-access period, but signed-in features and account recovery require account information.
Personalization and user content
Pranam App may store or process display names, notification preferences, language choices, favorite designs, daily-practice and explicitly joined Sankalp progress, privacy-minimal share attribution metadata, and app settings so the app can personalize greetings and daily devotional routines.
Photos chosen by the user are used to create greeting images or, when the user explicitly chooses, to ask Pranam about a puja item, temple, or sacred object. Photos remain local by default unless the user shares, saves, uploads, reports, or uses a feature that clearly sends content to the backend.
AI chat, image, and voice features
Before an AI feature sends any data, Pranam App asks for your explicit permission. If you continue, the chat message, text prompt, explicitly attached photo, or optional voice recording you provide is sent securely through the Pranam App backend to Google Gemini or OpenAI to provide an AI devotional response, image understanding, transcription, or generated image. The request may also include limited generated-content and safety metadata needed to deliver the feature and prevent abuse.
If you choose Not now, the message, prompt, photo, or recording is not sent to Google Gemini or OpenAI and the AI request does not run. Photo-library, camera, and microphone access are requested only when you choose the corresponding feature.
AI conversations and generated-image history may be stored with your Pranam App account so you can return to them. Do not include highly sensitive personal information in AI messages or prompts.
You can withdraw this permission at any time in Pranam App by opening Settings, choosing AI data sharing, and selecting Withdraw permission. After withdrawal, Pranam App asks for permission again before another AI request is sent.
Pranam App does not sell AI prompts or voice recordings. Authentication tokens are not included in AI prompts and must not be logged by Pranam App.
Temple discovery and location
If you choose a local Panchang, nearby temple discovery, or location-based pilgrimage planning, Pranam App may request precise or approximate device location. The local Panchang is calculated by the Pranam App backend; it does not send your coordinates to an external Panchang provider or store them in Firestore. Temple features may use Google Places. You can use non-local Today content or search by city without sharing device location.
Temple results may include place identifiers, distance, opening hours, ratings, website links, and route information. Location is used to answer the requested temple search or plan and is not used by Pranam App for advertising.
Panchang and birth-chart previews
The in-chat Panchang and Moon-sign reflections use a city you select and a date you request. They are traditional calculations and reflections, not guaranteed predictions or professional advice.
If you request a one-time Kundli preview, the birth date, exact birth time, and supported Indian city you select are sent to the Pranam App backend for that calculation. The preview is not saved to your account, conversation history, analytics, or an external astrology provider. The birth details are not sent to an AI provider by the preview. If you separately ask Pranam AI to explain a result, its usual consent and chat-history rules apply to the text you choose to send.
The preview currently supports selected cities and modern birth dates with an exact time. If your time or place is unknown or unsupported, please do not guess.
Listening and short-lived presence
Pranam App can play its devotional audio library and discover public podcasts or audiobooks from external catalogs. When an eligible in-app track is playing, the app may send the authenticated account identifier and track identifier to the Pranam App backend for a short-lived listening-presence count.
Presence entries expire after approximately 90 seconds unless playback continues. A displayed community count may include a deterministic baseline and should not be interpreted as an exact live-user total.
Shared invitations and widgets
When you share an invitation, Pranam App may create an opaque share identifier linked to the sender, an allowlisted destination, and a non-sensitive content identifier. It does not put your contacts, phone number, location, journal, or private messages in the link. An invitation is counted as qualified only after its recipient completes a daily practice.
The optional Pranam Today home or lock-screen widget stores only a date label, Tithi, and daily-practice label in device app-group or widget storage. It does not store location coordinates, identity, private journal text, or Sankalp progress.
Premium, ads, and purchases
Premium entitlement state may be checked through RevenueCat, store-managed purchase systems, Firebase, and the Pranam App backend. Payment processing is handled by Apple or Google where applicable.
Google Mobile Ads may be used for eligible free users. Premium users and active trial users do not see ads.
Notifications and alarms
Morning reminders and aarti alarms are optional. Notification permission is requested only after you choose reminder or alarm features.
App updates and diagnostics
Pranam App may use Shorebird to check for and securely download signed bug-fix updates. During an update check, Shorebird receives a random identifier created for that installation together with technical update metadata such as the Pranam app identifier, release and patch version, platform, device architecture, and update track. The identifier is not derived from IDFA, IDFV, Android advertising ID, or a Pranam account and is removed when the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared.
Shorebird uses the installation identifier for aggregate active-install counts and update delivery. Its hosting infrastructure may temporarily log network information such as an IP address for security, abuse prevention, and traffic management. Pranam does not use this update information for advertising or to identify a person.
Reports, rights, and safety
Pranam App may use report metadata to review offensive, unsafe, spam, copyright, or rights-related concerns. Devotional catalog content is governed by a rights review and takedown process.
Account deletion
Signed-in users can request deletion from Settings in the app or through the public delete-account page. Account deletion removes profile, saved settings, conversations, generated-content history, and other account data that Pranam App controls, subject to store, legal, fraud-prevention, safety-report, and operational retention requirements.
